After the first trip to Mainland China – Shenzhen

Shenzhen is only 20 minutes away by train from my University, but the difference between HK and Shenzhen is enormous. Katie and myself decided to go on an adventure and went to visit Shenzhen, our first time in Mainland China. The minute we crossed the border people started bombarding us with offers to take us shopping (buy knock off stuff) and we refused. We tried to ask the locals how to get to downtown, but no one spoke a word of English and we were the only Western people around. We decided to go shopping but couldn’t find anything great, and the prices weren’t that incredible, so we decided to go for food. Food was delicious; dim sum, won ton soup, and fried rice. The thing that shocked me is that people were burping during the meal (I guess a custom to show the food is delicious) personally didn’t like it that much. Then we wondered around the city and went to an amazing spa place to get some massages…
